It seems like anyone and everyone that has had 15 minutes of fame now has their own clothing line. With so much of this going on, I was curious about how many tall ladies have their own clothing lines. The list is about a small as our usual clothing selections.
Tall Fashion Designers
- Kimora Lee (6’0″) – She is in the process of relaunching KLS so we just have to wait and see if the clothes will also fit us. *waits patiently*
- L’Wren Scott (6’3″) – I’ll be honest, this website just confuses me. There’s no online shop yet, but I probably couldn’t afford the clothes if they were super long anyway. *rolls eyes*
- Whitney Port (5’10”) – Not really my type of fashion. There are no mention of inseams anywhere on her site. *taps foot*
- Rachel Roy (5’10”) – Longest inseam I found was 33 1/2″… I’m a 36-37″ *grrr*
There’s also the supermodels Gisele Bundchen, Elle McPherson, and Heidi Klum but they design shoes, lingerie, etc. And Venus Williams has a line of tennis wear so that doesn’t help me either. *sigh*
I found out that Tyra Banks wanted to be included in the growing list of supermodel fashion designers and was supposedly going to have her own clothing line named Divine Treasures:
As a shopper Tyra was satisfied. She ordered shoes to fit and shopped at a tall women’s store until last year, when the store closed. Then she had a dilemma.
“That left no retail store for us to shop at, therefore we can only shop online,” Banks said. “I do not shop on line for pants because you never know what you’re going to get.”
So now she’s created a clothing line for the “girl who is above average.” The Divine Treasures collection includes clothing is sized 4 to 18 with prices from $25 to $15 for pants, jackets, shirts and skirts.
I was really excited when I thought she might have some unknown clothing line out there somewhere. There are no treasures to be found anywhere on the web, Ms. Banks. I think she would be a great fashion designer. Maybe she ditched it? This is just too much. I’m about ready to fight. *takes off earrings*
I mean, come on! Do we have to start walking around naked to get some attention around here? I just can’t believe that these tall girls (who already know how hard it is for us) have their own clothing lines, yet still ignore us along with everyone else. They are legit fashion designers… and they’re one of us! How is this acceptable? Does it really cost that much more to design clothes for tall women? *throws chair and stomps out*
Am I the only one that feels a bit disappointed? Let down?
