Did you enjoy last weeks Feature Friday about Amy Amazon Shoes?
This weeks feature is a new store that I hadn’t heard of yet so I was excited to find out more about them. ShoeFlyy Unlimited is a shoe store carrying fashionable shoes in sizes 10-13. The inventory is not huge right now. It is a new store after all. I found a handful of shoes available for sale and they are cute! As well as very affordable. I think this is a good sign of things to come once they get the wheels rolling.
Let’s take a quick peek a the shoes available before we learn more about the owner.
If you know of any stores you would like to get more info about, let me know or get them to fill out this questionnaire.
ShoeFlyy Unlimited was started by 6’0 Sankan.
Does your store have a physical location? Where is it located? Or where is your online store based? Do you offer international shipping? *
ShoeFlyy Unlimited is online based and we currently do not offer international shipping at this time, but will be exploring those options in the future.
When did you start your store/blog? *
What inspired you to start your tall fashion store/blog? *
I wear a size 12 myself and I absolutely love shoes but growing up I always had trouble finding cute, fashionable shoes in my size which became very frustrating for me. Shoe shopping became a negative experience. I just couldn’t understand why shoe stores and brands did not carry many of the larger sizes for women, if any at all. As a woman, I felt ostracized and I began to think that having larger feet was a bad thing. My self-esteem was crushed. I had always talked about one day having a shoe store of my own that would provide a variety of fashionable shoes in larger sizes for women. I wanted to make that experience of shoe shopping exciting and convenient for women like myself. We shouldn’t have to feel excluded just because of the size of our feet. So in January 2018, I went for it and launched my online store and I’m so happy I did.
Tell us about your store.
ShoeFlyy Unlimited is an online shoe store that provides fashionable and affordable women’s shoes in extended sizes 10-13.
What do you love about your store/blog? What are your challenges? *
I love having the ability to find stylish shoes and provide them to my customers in those hard to find extended sizes. The biggest challenge so far is getting the exposure and getting people to know that we exist.
Have you always loved your long legs? Tell us about your experience being tall while growing up. *
I didn’t always love being tall. Growing up I was always taller than the boys in my class. I remember one time in middle school when we had to line up by height for some reason and I of course was in the back of the line. Standing right in front of me was my crush and I remember him trying to stand next to me to compare our heights because he found it hard to believe that a girl was taller than him. It was as if I was a threat to his masculinity because I just happened to be taller than him. As a young girl, it made me feel like something was wrong with me and that my height made me unattractive. Of course now I know better. Being tall is beautiful and unique and the people who take issue with that are just trying to mask their own insecurities.
What do you think about our options in tall fashion now compared to when you were growing up? *
I believe there are a lot more options now than when I was growing up which is amazing! Especially with the growth of the World Wide Web.
Besides your own clothing, do you have a favorite brand or store you love to shop? *
I like Nordstrom Rack and I like Sam Edelman shoes.
Do you read tall blogs? Who are your favorites and why? *
Prior to the launch of my online store I hadn’t been on social media like that. So I’m just now discovering all of these things and I’m really excited to see that there is a community for tall women and they seem to be really supportive of one another. I’ve been following The Tall Society, they seem to have a large network of tall women and they have a lot of resources regarding fashion, beauty, etc.
Anything else you would like to share?
I’ve always been an advocate of the representation of strong, powerful women in the media for as long as I can remember. I was somewhat of a gamer growing up and I only played with female characters in video games (so you know I was a huge fan of Tomb Raider). Not to mention I was pretty good…I beat my older brother and his friends all the time lol
Where can you be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram? *
