If you haven’t heard by now, Target is soon to release a new lifestyle denim brand by the name of Universal Thread.
If you’re one of the people who always posts about how much you love Target, they may be about to give you a reason to love them even more. For some of us taller than “tall” girls, not so much.
According to an interview with Targets executive Vice President Mark Tritton:
In developing this brand, we conducted research with nearly 1,000 women from across the country to better understand their needs when it comes to shopping denim. What we heard from nearly all of them was that they dreaded shopping for new jeans. Whether the rise was too long or the inseam was too short. The pair of jeans they wanted didn’t come in their size. Finding the perfect fit for their body type was just too challenging. That’s a problem we wanted to solve. So our design team rolled up their sleeves and got to work creating a line that caters to all women. With multiple fits, silhouettes, lengths, rises and sizes.
It sounds promising right? There will be plus size options, with sizes that run from 00 to 26W. I really had high hopes for this launch. Don’t know why but I did. Just imagine being able to walk into a Target of all places, and buy a pair of 36″ & up inseam jeans right off of the rack. This could be life changing for tall women!
Universal Thread will have some 36″ inseam jeans!
I found 4 jeans that will have 36″ inseam. At first I could only find 34″ for the long jeans until I utilized the filter by inseam. Imagine my surprise when I saw 36″. At least they’re not labeling 32″ as long/tall though.
I would also like to note that I found some cute shoes and boots that go up to size 12W.
Universal Thread is exclusive to Target and will be available in store and online starting 2/4/18. They will focus on denim, but will have tops, jeans, dresses, accessories and shoes. Prices will vary from $5 to $39.99, which is hella affordable.
So what do you think? Are you excited about this?
If you haven’t heard yet, I’m doing a Feature Friday series where I will interview the owners of different tall fashion stores! If you know of any stores that should be featured, let me know or get them to fill out this questionnaire . The link to the questionnaire can also be found in my Contact page.
